Dear Alumni and Supporters,
Abhishek Singh is a current student of NIT Warangal. He registered for classes in the year 2010 to pursue his B Tech in EEE. In 2012 he was diagnosed with a Pineal Region Tumor (Brain). He underwent Surgery, Radiation and Chemotherapy at CMC Vellore in India. He originally recovered from the Cancer and went back to continue his studies at NITW. Recently the disease has recurred and he is undergoing treatment again at CMC Vellore. So far his family has spent around 15,00,000 INR (25K USD) for the treatment where most of the funds have been contributed by his batchmates and family friends. His family is finding it extremely difficult in managing the cost of second round of treatment. Abhishek is fighting a serious illness but is highly motivated to get better, get back to the college and finish his degree.
The chapter is requesting all the kind Alumni in US to pitch in and support our fellow NITian. Your donation is being made to NITW Americas, a 501.c(3) charitable organization and is tax deductible as allowed by US Tax code.

Hello,
This blog is about how my brother's and family life changes after knowing about Abhishek's brain tumor. I am sharing this with all because it may help others to get motivated and encourage them in fight with cancer.
Please forgive for grammatical mistakes as I am not good in English.
My brother Abhishek is a student of NIT Warangal, EEE branch of 2010 batch. He had successfully finished his 4th semester and came home. It was 2012 June. I also came to home in same month after my examinations. I remember the day, it was June 4th, when he first told me about his headache. And after some time headache become worst and we are at doctors clinic. His CT scan shows a tumor in his pineal gland. From that day his and our struggle start. It ruins our happiness and lot of emotional and financial problem was there. Anyway we managed it and Abhishek fight with cancer so bravely that after 1 years of measure treatment followed by surgery, Radiation and Chemotherapy he was free of cancer. I can't explain the happiness in words here, when we came to know about this. That day Abhishek cried to much in front of Doctor. He was to emotional. It was first time when he shows his emotions after his illness. It was March, 2013. After some times Abhishek decided to go college again. But I was always afraid to let him allow to do so. His physical health was not so good, as chemotherapy ruins the body, so we decided to not allow him to go to college. It was very difficult to convince him for this.
This march he went to college for documentation work needed to continue his study for 2014-2015 session. This time he looks physically good. There are no signs of recurrence of tumor back. He also have to meet his friends. His all friends are going to get passed out in 2014. He stayed there with his friends. So we allowed to go there. He lived 2 months with them. After that he came to the home in June 2014. And Yes, It was June again when again he was diagnosed with cancer after several days of fever and cough. This time cancer was spread to his abdominal and Lungs. There are total 3 tumors this time. We went again to CMC Vellore for further treatment. After one month waiting for the treatment to get started, doctors admitted him for first cycle of chemotherapy. The delay was because of his cancer stage. It is in 4th stage this time. It is difficult for me to explain the emotions of my parents that time. I will come back here and update more on health condition and journey of Abhishek .

Hello!
It was again June 4th. I was sitting in my office, and my phone rings. Papa was there. My heart starts beating fast as he never calls me in day time. And as I was aware of that Abhishek’s is suffering from fever and cough these days, so before taking call I guessed something surely went wrong. I was right, father told me about current doctor reports and Abhishek’s health condition. My mind was blocked. I even not answered anything and cut the call. Took a leave from office and went to room. All night I was thinking what about Abhishek. He has a bright carrier ahead if God had not done this to him. I was not able to sleep even more thinking about what was going on Abhishek’s mind. I was trying to read his mind from here. To be honest, I had no any hope that time. We can feel, At the young what anyone will think, when he will come to know about he has Cancer.
Next day came with lots of hope. A man from Nagpur called me, and told me about Ayurveda medicine for cancer. There is D.S Research center in Varanasi, U.P, India. I will update more information about D.S Research center later. I talked to the D.S center immediately and took appointment. Only that I went for Varanasi and meet the doctor. First time I got some hope. I came to know how many people after taking this medicine got well and living normal life. I too moved with lots of hope towards home.

After this I will share on Treatment options available Good Hospitals, treatment costs, foods for fighting with cancer, palliative care and more which I can.
" It was June 7th, when I meet Abhishek. When I saw him, my heart was in my mouth. He was looking too ill, thin and energy less. But My presence made him happy. First of all I told him about medicine and showed all the medicine t. After lunch he took first dose of medicine. And Yes, It is true. Medicine showed its effects from 1st dose. He starts recovering from cough. Initially he was not able to sleep via right portion. Now he can, after 2 days of medicine dose.
In between this I was trying to get the tickets of Vellore. As you know how much it is difficult to get Train tickets. Anyway through an agent we managed tickets and went to CMC Vellore. Appointment was on next day after we reached there. First day meeting with doctor was very disappointing. Doctors were very negative on their opinion. Anyway they wrote some examination to be done and asked to take next appointment after 3 days. We came back to hotel after paying for MRI and other examinations. I forgot to mention Abhishek had moderate ascites (fluid in lungs and abdominal). It is very bad sign in the case of cancer. He was not able to walk properly. Fluids are increasing day by day. His abdominal looks like bowel. After 3 days reports came. Reports were not good. There were 3 tumors this time and all of them are big in size, average 8-10cm. But there was no tumor in brain. It was first good thing we heard after lot of time. We meet to doctor on scheduled date and again they decided to have some more check-ups to be done. In between this, Dr. Patricia, an oncologist who treated Abhishek’s brain tumor in 2012, came to back after her vacation. As usual, she again motivated us, and starts treatment for ascites immediately. Around 2 liters of fluid drained from abdominal. In between these days Abhishek was taking medicine of D.S research center. It took around 25 days for all check-up to be done. Doctors decided to have four cycles of Chemotherapy. In these 25 days, there was lots of improvement in Abhishek health condition. His Ascites has almost gone. No cough was there. He also started having good meal. This helped him during chemotherapy, as chemotherapy is very painful and requires good physical health condition. And he finished his first cycle of chemotherapy on 10th of July. It was 11th of July, he came back to hotel. And there was something more special that day. Abhishek’s HAPPY BIRTHDAY is on 11th of July.
His friends are continuously calling him. Because of weakness he was not able to talk to many of them. He was sleeping most of the time. I would like to say thanks to all of you.. This line is especially for his friends: “It would not be the same without your supports and prayers. You made him to feel good. He remembers all of you every day. Be with him always. He is blessed with friends like you. Your supports ease his journey and motivated him too”
We moved towards home on 12th July. And this time I was not afraid with negative thoughts. Abhishek’s was really doing well. I was surprised to know that he has no fear of cancer. He told me that, he will get cured again. And I replied to myself, Yes Abhishek, you will. God can’t be so bad to you."
